Bachelor of Arts in Biology

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology program offers a comprehensive foundation in biological sciences with an emphasis on the integration of science and humanities. It is designed to provide students with the flexibility to explore various career paths in science, research, and beyond, such as environmental law or health-related fields. The program includes core biological courses along with specialized areas of focus, such as biodiversity, bioinformatics, education, and health science.

Students can enhance their degree through real-world internships, often collaborating with prestigious organizations like the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Saint Louis Zoo, and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. The program is designed to be completed in four years, and students can customize their curriculum through electives and by choosing one of the areas of emphasis.

A unique feature of the program is the opportunity for students to pursue a 2+2 dual degree pathway with Goldfarb School of Nursing, which enables them to transition into a nursing career after completing the BA in Biology.

Graduates of this program are well-prepared for careers in various industries, including healthcare, research, data science, and laboratory management. Many also go on to pursue advanced degrees in fields such as bioinformatics and occupational therapy.
