Master of Science - Biology (Thesis Option)
The University of Regina offers thesis-based Master's and Doctoral degrees in the areas of ecology and evolution, cell and molecular biology, as well as organismal physiology and biochemistry. The graduate programs are thesis-based and include both coursework and research, with an emphasis on the research.
The Department of Biology houses advanced research facilities and instrumentation including the Institute for Environmental Change and Society (IECS), the Institute for Microbial Systems and Society (IMSS), a Herbarium, a modern Aquatics Facility, and a field station in the Cypress Hills of southwestern Saskatchewan.
The faculty and students conduct research in a wide variety of locations across Canada and elsewhere, and have national and international collaborations. The Department of Biology also has close connections and collaborations with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory and other local, provincial, and national agencies.
