Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Film Studies and English Literature (Placement Year)
Students wanting to study a combination of Film Studies and English Literature will develop skills and techniques to produce audio-visual material as well as essential key skills for many of the creative industries. They will study a range of literature from the medieval to the contemporary, while developing their individual interests. This course will equip them with a solid understanding in the theoretical, technical and practical skills making them a sought-after professional in these fields.
Central to this cross-disciplinary degree is the development of students' understanding and awareness of the rich possibilities of film and literature when placed in dialogue. Bangor University will help them to broaden their approach to the study of both forms by placing them within different historical and theoretical frameworks.
This course is available with a Placement Year option where students will study for 1 additional year. The Placement Year is undertaken at the end of the second year and they are away for the whole of the academic year.
The Placement Year provides students with a fantastic opportunity to broaden their horizons and develop valuable skills and contacts through working with a self-sourced organisation relevant to their degree subject.
