Master of Science - Athletic Training
The athletic training graduate program at William Paterson University (WP) offers courses of study leading to a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training (MS in AT). It is a rigorous, challenging educational experience, which presents knowledge and skills necessary for the students' professional preparation. Upon completion of the program, the students will be well prepared to take the Board of Certification (BOC) examination. Ultimately, the goal of the Athletic Training (AT) Program at WP is to prepare students for a successful future in the athletic training profession or, for those who wish to go on, further study at the doctoral level.
Students in the program are expected to complete 38 credits of course work, which include both didactic education and clinical education experiences. The clinical education experience will include four semesters of hands-on experience with a WP AT Program approved preceptor, with one semester being a completely immersive experience in the fall of the second year.
