There are no specific prerequisites for admission to the Associate of General Studies program. However, students are required to complete the following courses as part of the general education requirements: ENG 143: College Composition (3 credit hours): This course focuses on intensive training in methods of exposition and research, leading to the ability to write coherent, clear, and persuasive essays. The course emphasizes the writing process, including revision and editing, and requires the completion of at least 20 pages of prose (approximately 5,000 words). HUM 203: Humanities Seminar (3 credit hours): This course is designed to introduce students to the study of humanities, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills through the exploration of various cultural and historical topics. It encourages students to engage with diverse perspectives and develop a deeper understanding of human experiences. In addition to these courses, students must fulfill other general education requirements, including electives in social sciences, humanities, mathematics, and science, as well as additional requirements such as the University Experience course.
