Master of Arts - Film (Directing)
For students who want to build a career in directing fiction film and scripted drama, USW's MA Film (Directing) course is an ideal opportunity to develop and hone the skills they have gained as an undergraduate student. Cardiff is home to a thriving film and TV industry, including Pinewood Studio Wales and BBC Wales, where shows including Doctor Who and Sherlock were filmed.
Learners on this Master's course will have the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience with Bad Wolf (His Dark Materials), working on international drama productions in their Cardiff studio. Industry masterclasses, guest lectures and an in-depth work experience opportunity at a Wales-based creative company will allow students to build their portfolio and network with industry professionals.
Students at USW Cardiff Campus benefit from industry-standard equipment, software and studio and production facilities. They'll collaborate with fellow students from across the course and Faculty of Creative Industries on a short film. There is an on-site cinema, that is available to them to screen their work.
