Master of Science - International Business with Placement Year
MSc International Business is an innovative flagship programme designed to help students build a strong understanding of the way organizations operate globally, and help develop specialist skills that enables them to work effectively across national borders. An additional Sandwich year offers students the opportunity to work on a placement (normally 40 weeks) as part of their degree as well as their academic studies.
Students will also build a strong network with their peers and colleagues at workplace – some will become their close friends, and a few may even become their future business partners. In short, placement is an excellent way to apply the knowledge and skills learnt on the programme as well as increase the employment prospects following graduation.
This programme gives students the opportunity to explore international business from a number of perspectives, including economics, finance, strategy, marketing, management, human resource, and supply chain. There will also be an opportunity to conduct an independent major research project in their area of interest.
Throughout the programme, students will gain a unique combination of skills sought after by employers all over the world. These skills include communication, numeracy, team-working, cross-cultural awareness, reflective learning and the ability to critically analyze complex business challenges to reach considered creative solutions.
Hertfordshire Business School is very well connected and hosts regular business networking events with large organizations such as BT, Tesco, and Ocado. Graduates work as Business Developers, Senior Managers, and Commercial Operation Managers in organizations including Royal Mail, Network Rail, and BT.
