To be eligible for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at the University of Bridgeport, applicants must meet the following criteria: Educational Background: Possess a conferred Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from a fully accredited academic institution. Minimum GPA: Achieve a minimum cumulative Quality Point Ratio (QPR) of 3.0 from all previously attended institutions. Prerequisite Coursework: Complete the following courses with a grade of "C+" or better: Anatomy and Physiology I Anatomy and Physiology II Introductory Chemistry Microbiology Introduction to College Algebra Statistics English Composition Introduction to Psychology Lifespan Development Principles of Sociology At the time of application, no more than three of these prerequisite courses may be outstanding or in progress. All prerequisite coursework must be completed prior to the start of the program. Additionally, these courses should have been completed within seven years of applying to the ABSN program. Please note that meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, as the program is highly competitive. Prospective students are encouraged to ensure all prerequisites are completed and to maintain a strong academic record to enhance their application.
