Master of Arts - Human Resource Management
The MA Human Resource Management equips students to progress their career in learning and development, employee relations or any other HR-related field. Students will gain the knowledge and skills to become adaptable and well-informed in managerial skills. They'll also learn ways to approach business problems strategically and to adapt to organizational change.
This course is available during the afternoons and evenings on a full-time basis, which allows individuals to fit their studies around their other commitments. Moreover, students are also encouraged to attend events and discuss current HR trends with practitioners, faculty and guest speakers.
Regular seminars of the CIPD South East Thames branch are held at the University on topics including HR Analytics, Diversity and Inclusion, Annual CIPD HR Conference, Well-being and Engagement and Coaching and Mentoring.
In a typical week, learning takes place through a combination of lectures and seminars. Students will be able to discuss and develop their understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller group sessions. Outside of timetabled sessions, they'll need to dedicate time to self-study to prepare for coursework, presentations and exams. Greenwich's Stockwell Street library and online resources will support further reading and research. Learners can also join a range of student societies, including the HRM Society.
The MA Human Resource Management graduates have gone on to work for corporates, engineering firms, creative organizations and housing associations, as well as charities and public sector organizations including the NHS. Their roles have included HR Business Partner, HR Administrator, Head of HR, and HR Advisor.
