Program Description
University of Reading's MSc by Research Biomedicine is an exciting course and will provide students with broad research training to prepare for a career in biomedical research. This course is also suitable in preparation for subsequent PhD studies and for students planning a research career in industry or academia.
Students will spend their first term undertaking a number of taught modules to prepare them for their research project. This includes a research skills module in which students will gain hands-on training in advanced techniques such as confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, cloning, in situ hybridisation and bioinformatics.
Students will then choose research projects to pursue for the rest of the course in areas such as cancer biology, cardiovascular disease, stem cells and regenerative biology, microbiology and genetics.
